We read everything that arrives here. We aim to reply to corrections within a few working days and to other enquiries when we can. There is no phone line and no live chat — a two-person research desk with a phone line would be a research desk that never finishes anything.

What to write about

Corrections and data updates. The most useful mail we get. A fee has changed, a platform has restricted Jamaican accounts, a branch has closed, a figure is out of date, a link is broken. Include a source if you have one and we will verify and update, noting the change.

Something we have missed. If there is a service operating in Jamaica we have not covered — a local broker, a cash service, an exchange that works particularly well or badly with a Jamaican bank — tell us. We would rather hear about it from a reader than not at all.

Operator responses. If you work for a platform we cover and disagree with an assessment, this is the right address. Say which sub-score and why, and we will re-run the relevant test. We will not move a ranking without a reason we can publish. Our method is set out in full on how we review.

Media and research enquiries. Journalists, students and researchers working on Jamaican or Caribbean digital asset topics are welcome to write. We are happy to point at primary sources and to explain what we could and could not verify.

Local knowledge. If you know something specific about how this works in your parish — which branch actually opens a foreign-currency account without a fight, what a bank asked you when a wire arrived — that is exactly the kind of detail our local guides are built from.

What we cannot do

We want to be straightforward about this, because the requests we cannot help with are often the most urgent ones and a vague answer wastes your time.

  • We cannot recover lost or stolen crypto. Blockchain transactions are final and no service can reverse them. Anyone who contacts you claiming otherwise for a fee is running a recovery scam.
  • We cannot intervene with an exchange. We have no relationship that lets us unfreeze an account, release a withdrawal or escalate a support ticket.
  • We cannot tell you whether to buy something. We are not licensed to give financial advice and would not give it if we were.
  • We cannot hold, route or manage money. We are a publisher. Anyone claiming to trade on behalf of this site is not us.
  • We cannot give tax advice on your circumstances. Our tax page explains what to ask a Jamaican accountant.

If you have been defrauded

Write to us if you like — patterns are genuinely useful to us and help other readers — but report it to the right body first, because that is time-sensitive.

Our scams and red flags page sets out what evidence to gather before you make the report and what to do in the first hour.
